This weekend will see the broadcast of a couple of unique shows on CCR.
By special request, on Saturday at 11am we will repeat the tribute programme to Martin Casey, hosted by Johnny Kirrane, which was first aired on November 26th.
On Sunday at 2pm, Andrew Newman will present a Classical Sounds two hour Christmas Special. The show will feature a feast of Christmas-themed classical music alongside a selection of pieces either composed or conducted by people who have passed away in 2016.
On Saturday, December 13th 2014, the CCR community came together to broadcast a live tribute to our recently deceased colleague Gordon Campbell. Gordon hosted ‘Weekend Gold’ on CCR for over six years, as well as serving as the station’s Community Development Officer. In this special show Linda Conway, Bridie Sheeran, Anne McLoughlin, John Kirrane, Dolores Keaveney, Kevin Griffiths, Michael Gleeson, Michael Burke, Gráinne Conroy, Michael Goulding and Eamonn Kelly share their memories of Gordon, together with listeners who text and call in. The show also features many of the songs Gordon loved.
