New developments at CCR studios

new-home-builderMajor changes are set to take place at Claremorris Community Radio over the next few weeks.

Studio 3 is set to be renamed ‘Studio 2’, after which it will take on the current usage of the present second studio. In other words, it will be the studio for those who wish to prerecord shows and/or carry out edits on their audio.

Improvement works on the studio will need to be carried out, obviously. The studio’s equipment will also be upgraded.

We are predicting that the work will take two weeks to complete. Thus, we are aiming to have the new studio 2 ready to go by the weekend of August 30th/31st.

The old studio 2 is going to undergo an even more dramatic transformation, as it will become the CCR Live Lounge. More details on that will follow in the coming weeks…

Changes to studio bookings

date-for-your-calendarFor the duration of the Summer, Claremorris Community Radio’s aural identity (the sound of the station) will be revamped.  To facilitate this, Studio 2 will be unavailable for two hours each afternoon.  This block booking will cover 2-4pm on weekday afternoons.

This new scheme will start next month.  However, no pre-existing bookings will be effected.

On a related issue, the station staff would request that volunteers refrain from booking two months (or more) in advance.  We’ve had several incidents of reservations not being honoured, simply because circumstances have changed in the weeks following a very advanced booking.

If you have made a booking and, for whatever reason, cannot make it to the station, please do contact a member of staff and inform them.  Your slot can then become available to other volunteers!

Online bookings only from this weekend

From this weekend, volunteers can only book time in studios one and two via the online booking form.

You can do this both in the station, via the computer in the Green Room, or anywhere at all – wherever you have internet access and your login details to hand.  You will need those details though as the bookings page is only available to logged-in volunteers.  If you haven’t yet received your login details (or perhaps have lost the email) please contact John, Kevin or Lorraine in the Station and one of us will sort you out.

That said, the computer in the station will be left permanently logged-in so you won’t need to remember your username and password to use it.
