The 100th Claremorris Agricultural Show will take place at the Claremorris athletics track on Sunday next.
This famous event will be bigger than ever this year. It will include the first Connacht Truck Show, a fashion show, wrestling, sand sculptures, bubble soccer, showjumping (including the Puissance), dog handling, arts and crafts exhibitions and a cooking demonstration by popular chef Adrian Martin and even more.
Claremorris Community Radio will be broadcasting live from the Show from 12 noon to 3pm. Tune in on Sunday afternoon to hear our presenters Ed Coulson, Eleanor Prendergast and Catherine Lavery as they explore the many stalls and exhibits of the show.
The station itself will also have a stall this year, and we welcome any and all to call in for a chat, or to make a request. Look out for Bridie Sheeran and Chay Dawkins, who will be at the stall throughout the afternoon.

After the Fact, Claremorris Community Radio’s award-winning quiz show will return to the station’s airwaves on this Thursday, February 22nd.
This will be the fourth series of After the Fact and the format is remaining the same. Each episode in this series will see the four players being asked questions on a specific year. For this week’s first show, host John Nolan will be asking the contestants all about 1984. The players for the first episode will be Linda Conway, Brendan Cox, Ger Slattery and Marcella Connolly.
After the Fact will be broadcast on Thursdays at 8pm and repeated on Sundays at 2pm. It will also be uploaded to the station’s mixcloud feed on Fridays.
This Saturday, Claremorris Community Radio will broadcast a special live show, to raise awareness for the project being undertaken by Lorraine Mooney, a local student.
Lorraine will shortly be travelling to Africa, to do voluntary work and needs to raise funds to help cover the cost of the trip.
Join Lorraine, Micheál McLoughlin, Bridie Sheeran and their special guests on Saturday, February 10th, at 11am for this special show. You can text the show at 087 326 2007.
Update: This programme will now be repeated at 11am on Tuesday, February 13th, and at 11am on Saturday, February 17th.
