During this Christmas season, CCR will air several special shows created by our volunteer hosts. These shows begin tomorrow, December 16th, and will be aired throughout the holidays, right up to New Year’s Eve.
Here are the broadcast times:
Christmas memories of the 1950s and ’60s, produced and recorded by Bridie Sheeran. Saturday 16th at 4pm / repeated Christmas Eve at 11am.
The way it is: Christmas special, hosted by Anthony McNicholas. Sunday 17th at 2pm / repeated Tuesday 19th at 2pm.
The ATC Festival of Carols, hosted by Anni Wilton-Jones. Wednesday 20th at 7pm / repeated Saturday 23rd at 5pm.
Ollie’s Christmas Jukebox, hosted by Ollie Mullins. Friday 22nd at 7pm / repeated Wednesday 27th at 3pm.
Pat Macken’s Christmas. Saturday 23rd at 4pm / repeated Tuesday 26th at 2pm.
Spiorad na Nollaig, hosted by Pat Keane. Christmas Eve at 2pm / repeated New Year’s Eve at 2pm.
These are all new shows, created especially for Christmas 2017.
The CCR Sports Roadshow is returning to Claremorris on Friday, October 27th. This boxing special will take place in Hanley’s Sports Bar, Claremorris, from 10.30pm.
Hosts Austin Garvin and Billy Fitzpatrick will be joined on the night by:
Joe Charles President of Claremorris Boxing Club and a multiple Connacht champion
Seán Horkan (Castlebar BC), former Irish champion and Team Manager of the most successful Irish team ever – at the Barcelona Olympics
Pat McDonagh, (Geesala) trainer of Ciara Ginty, world and junior Olympic Champion, and Ailbhe Carabine, a current European Champion
Stephen Connolly, Registrar of the IABA, who is travelling from Dublin to be with us
Several local musicians, who will be performing live.
As during the summer, the show will be broadcast live on Facebook and then aired on 94.6 FM the following Monday and Wednesday evenings.
All volunteers are invited to the Dalton Inn tomorrow evening for a three hour workshop on radio documentary production for the Sound & Vision programme.
The workshop will be delivered by Paul Wright, an independent radio documentary producer. His talk will also touch on securing funding via Sound & Vision.
The workshop will commence at 7pm tomorrow evening (Thursday, 17th August) and will run until 10pm, with a tea/coffee break in the middle. The workshop is free for all Claremorris Community Radio volunteers.
