Christmas songs and poetry

For the second year in a row, CCR visited Scoil Naisiunta Muire Gan Smal and recorded the school’s choir performing a selection of classic Christmas carols.

You can listen to these local children performing on two occasions over Christmas weekend. Together with a new recording of a Christmas poem by local poet Pat Macken, the carols will be broadcast at 1pm on Christmas Eve and at 2pm on Christmas Day.

We will also podcast the programme in the near-future.

Congratulations Tracy!

Tracy-Gaughan-2016Congrats to Tracy Gaughan on the broadcasting of the 100th episode of her show Westwords, which will be aired on Saturday at 6pm.

Tracy joined the station in 2010 and has presented Westwords, a show all about poems and the poets who create them, ever since.

Earlier this year, Tracy branched out and started a music show, West Goes Blue, which is broadcast on alternating weeks with Westwords, in the same slot.

If you miss Tracy’s 100th show on Saturday, fear not.  It will be repeated on Thursday at 1pm.
