This Thursday night will see the first episode broadcast in a new, home-made quiz show, Play by Ear.
Play by Ear is the follow up to the award-winning general knowledge quiz show, After the Fact, which ran on CCR from 2011 to 2014.
However, in Play by Ear the contestants will be challenged on their knowledge of all things musical. Over the series, host John Nolan will test eight teams of two players with the top two teams taking part in a grand final in early May.
Play by Ear will be broadcast on Thursday evenings at 8pm and repeated on Saturdays at the same time.

and again on Sat. 5 Dec. at 5 pm
Affairs, bribery, back handers, lies, cheating and shocking revelations all feature in this hilarious short radio drama.
Set in an office, all hell breaks loose following one phone call to inform the staff that a delegation from head office is coming to visit the following day.
Funded by the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland with the Television Licence Fee
CCR is currently seeking voice actors for the production of a collection of radio plays, which were written as part of a course in the station last year.
We issued an appeal last Autumn for available actors and did receive several replies. However, we do not have enough. We are especially short of female voices.
The station is now about to proceed with recording these plays so we are now looking for a final few volunteers to complete the plays. If you are interested and will be available over the next few weeks, please pop in to the station and let us know or email allan@ccr946.ie.
