Tin Whistle

This Saturday, Claremorris Community Radio will broadcast a new play by local playwright Pat Macken.

Tin Whistle, a play about a changing Ireland and the arrival of ‘Bioenergy’, has been recorded by a group of local actors.  The play will be broadcast on Saturday next, November 25th, at 4pm.

It will be accompanied by a small collection of poems written  and read by the Pat:

  • Something a little American
  • Where the French never landed
  • Curroughadooey
  • To Hell with Salthill

The play and poems will be repeated the following day, Sunday 26th, at 2pm.

I, Patrick feat. Martin Casey

Listeners have the chance to listen to a classic creation from the CCR archive over the next few days when we will broadcast “I, Patrick“, a production written by and starring the late Martin Casey.

Produced by Martin Casey and Johnny Kirrane, this radio play was recorded for St. Patrick’s Day 2010.  To the best of our knowledge, it has not been aired since that year.

I, Patrick will be broadcast on Saturday next, December 10th, at 4pm and repeated on Wednesday, December 14th, at 2pm.
