The Amber Show, a new Latvian/Irish radio show, will start broadcasting on Claremorris Community Radio on Sunday next, January 31st, at 5pm.
Each week the Amber Show, hosted by Skarleta Mukane and Noel Lyons, will inform its listeners about Latvian-Irish integration activities around Claremorris. Claremorris is home to several hundred Latvian natives, who have now made Ireland their home.
Upcoming events covered in the opening show include an art exhibition, a live performance of Latvian and Irish choral pieces and the Irish premiere of God’s Little Sparrows, with guest of honour Dr. Gints Apals, the Latvian Ambassador to Ireland.
The Amber Show will be broadcast on Sundays at 5pm and repeated each Thursday at 7pm.
Have you a voice for radio? Have you a voice for radio drama?
Claremorris Community Radio is seeking expressions of interest from people aged 18 and over for a short series of workshops on voice acting for radio drama.
The workshops will be run in Claremorris and are free of charge. It is hoped to record some new radio drama in the near future and these workshops are aimed at preparing a pool of voice actors for these plays.
If you’re interested in trying your hand (or rather voice) at radio drama, please get in contact today by ringing Claremorris Community Radio on 094 9373737.
