On Board the Poetry Surprise Tour

Claremorris Community Radio presents On Board the Poetry Surprise Tour for Poetry Day Ireland 2018!

The board of Claremorris Community Radio consists of seven people with very varied experiences of poetry; some of them read it, some of them write it and some of them don’t remember when they last saw a poem!

On Poetry Day Ireland, you can join the board of the station when they each contribute three poems to be read and discussed. These may be poems they know and love, ones they remember fondly from the past or only discovered recently – perhaps even poems they loathe! They may be poems everyone has heard before or ones by new or little-known writers. Who knows? This is a programme of poetry surprises.

Listen in on 94.6 FM, in the Claremorris area, or listen live through the website right here.  The show will be aired on Poetry Day Ireland, Thursday 26th April, at 8.00 pm.  (The show will be repeated on Saturday, 28 April, at 7.00 pm).

After the Fact is back

After the Fact, Claremorris Community Radio’s award-winning quiz show will return to the station’s airwaves on this Thursday, February 22nd.

This will be the fourth series of After the Fact and the format is remaining the same. Each episode in this series will see the four players being asked questions on a specific year.  For this week’s first show, host John Nolan will be asking the contestants all about 1984.   The players for the first episode will be Linda Conway, Brendan Cox, Ger Slattery and Marcella Connolly.

After the Fact will be broadcast on Thursdays at 8pm and repeated on Sundays at 2pm.  It will also be uploaded to the station’s mixcloud feed on Fridays.

The way it is: Fodder

Anthony McNicholas will host another special episode of The Way It Is next week. This hour-long program will be on ‘The Fodder Crisis’. It will be transmitted on Wednesday 14th February at 8pm and again on Thursday 15th February at 8pm.

Anthony’s special guest will be Padraic Joyce, Connacht Chairman of IFA, and Brian Hughes, Drystock adviser at Teagasc, Claremorris.
