The Comparative Arts Programme

film-studiesA new multimedia project begins on Claremorris Community Radio tonight. The Comparative Arts Programme, presented by John Farragher, will be the first in a series of shows which are part of a wider multimedia project taking place in Claremorris this Autumn.

Claremorris Book Club, Claremorris Film Society and CCR will all be linked for the next three months, with a series of events based around a selection of famous works of literature and their film adaptations.

Throughout September, October and November To Kill a Mockingbird, The Great Gatsby, The Grapes of Wrath and A Christmas Carol will be the subjects of film screenings, book club readings and discussions and a series of radio shows.

The first of those will be broadcast tonight. It is entitled ‘The value of literature’ and features extracts of a talk by Arnold Weinstein, an academic and expert on the value of literature.

The Comparative Arts Programme will be broadcast at 8pm on the second and third Wednesdays of the next four months. For more info, please visit www.nonprophetfestival.eu
