Broadcastathon schedule finalised

Broadcastathon-small

The schedule for the 2013 Broadcastathon was finalised (finally) this morning and can now be viewed at this page: https://ccr946.ie/broadcastathon-2013/.

This year’s Broadcastathon kicks off with a launch party in Maxwells’ at 5pm tomorrow, August 9th.  From then until 5pm on Sunday, volunteers will broadcast live, both from upstairs in Maxwells’ and from our studios on Town Hall Road.

As always, our broadcast will be streamed live across the internet.  During this special weekend, we will also be broadcasting a video stream, covering each and every show.  You can tune in and watch your favourite hosts and shows at this address: http://www.livestream.com/claremorristv

The countdown begins…

Claremorris Community Radio’s third Broadcastathon will take place over the weekend of August 9th to 11th.

The broadcastathon is an annual event in which CCR volunteers produce and broadcast 48 hours of live radio to raise money towards the running of their station.

Last year’s event was a huge success – over €5,000 was raised! It was also tremendous fun and saw several volunteers broadcast live for the first time from our special studio in Innovation House.

This year’s event will be even bigger and will feature live shows from the upstairs venue in Maxwell’s on Main Street, a public stage in The Square and, in assocation with Frame Productions, it will once again be video-streamed on the internet.

Volunteers are asked to pop in to the station over the next week to collect a sponsorship card for the Broadcastathon.  A card for each volunteer can be found in the green room between the studios.  The average amount collected last year worked out at just under €50 per volunteer.  Let’s aim to beat that this year!

In pursuit of pyjamas

bananas-in-pyjamasDuring the upcoming Broadcastathon 2013 weekend, Claremorris Community Radio intends to run (literally) a charity pyjama race on Main Street.

We’re hoping a volunteer will offer their services as organiser of this event, which is scheduled for the Saturday during the Broadcastathon (August 10th).

It should be great fun!  If you’re interested in helping out with this unusual event, please contact Allan via email allan@ccr946.ie or phone 094 9373737.
