Broadcastathon and on

The 2012 Claremorris Community Radio Broadcastathon was a tremendous success for the volunteers and staff of the station.

Over the course of two day, 52 volunteers took to the airwaves to broadcast 44 live shows. Each show was not only live on 94.6 fm but was also broadcast over the internet as audio and TV.  The TV stream turned the broadcastathon into an international event as server logs indicated that it had attracted viewers from as far afield as New Zealand, Qatar and Canada.

The weekend also represents a job well done for the staff of the station who burned the midnight oil throughout the week prior to the big event, preparing the plush temporary studio in Innovation House on Chapel Lane.

The staff also managed to bring the Broadcastathon to the people of Claremorris with televisions in shop windows throughout the town showing the event.  Indeed it was impossible for anyone passing through the Square to miss the large television image being projected on to the gable wall of The Fáilte Bar!
