After the Fact shortlisted for podcast award

blog awards irelandAfter the Fact, CCR’s Thursday night quiz has been shortlisted for the Best Podcast award at the 2013 Irish Blog Awards!

Originally included in a long list of 15 podcasts, After the Fact survived a process which saw a shortlist of 10 being kept initially before a further selection saw just six podcasts reach the final.

After the Fact is broadcast each Thursday night at 7pm and features John Nolan as quizmaster, asking questions to team captains Andrew Newman and Lorraine Murphy and their ever-changing list of team-mates.  If you’d like to listen to the show’s podcast, you can subscribe to in on iTunes, Feedburner or just listen back on the station’s account on mixcloud.com.

The Irish Blog Awards celebrate the best in Irish blogging, featuring 31 categories including politics, food/drink, photography science/education and blogs by Irish diaspora.  The awards ceremony will take place in the Osprey Hotel, Nass, Co. Kildare, on October 12th.

Blue September in CCR

Chris enters the blue zoneWe had a very busy morning here in the CCR studios.

First up, in honour of Blue September, the male members of staff all sported blue paint (or insulating tape) all over our handsome visages.  Or else it was the addition of the colour that made them handsome.  I’m not sure.  Gordon Campbell is overseeing our contribution to Blue September so, if you’d like to make a donation to this very worthwhile cause, please talk to Gordon.

On air, it was Michael Burke’s first day ‘on the job’, as the new host of Friday’s Good Morning Show.  Ably assisted by the master himself, Eamonn Kelly, Michael’s apprenticeship was short-lived as he put out an excellent show.  Well done Michael!

A significant guest on the programme this morning was Nicola Glavey, the newly-crowned World Kickboxing Champion! She brought her belt in to show the lads, both of whom were on their best behaviour.
