Living in the Country

The students who completed the Women in Radio course, with their tutor John Nolan.

What’s it like to live in the Irish countryside, especially if you come from a different place originally?

That’s one of the questions posed in a radio programme created by the students who recently completed the ‘Women in Radio’ course here in the station. In the show, we hear from Rory and Carina, two people who have moved to Mayo in recent years, about why they did it and what life has been like since.

The show also features an interview with Kevin McGuire, a local historian, on what life in this area was like in times past.

This very interesting programme will be broadcast on Claremorris Community Radio on Wednesday, May 15th, at 5pm. It will be repeated on Saturday next (the 18th), again at 5pm.
