Eleanor Prendergast interviews Tommy Duggan – son of Jim Duggan

Eleanor Prendergast speaks to Tommy Duggan, the son of Jim Duggan, about the Duggan Family’s battle to raise necessary funds for Jim to receive life-saving treatment in the USA.

Jim Duggan is in serious need of a lifesaving bone marrow transplant.

His need for a second bone marrow transplant in Ireland was refused, which meant that Jim had to travel to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre in New York, USA.

He is currently undergoing chemotherapy in preparation for the new bone marrow transplant. The Duggan family (Jim, Bridie, Corina, Paul and Tommy) have put everything they can (in excess of €500k) into paying for his treatment. However, there is currently a shortfall of around €500k.

All fundraised money is being used for Jim’s treatment only, nothing else, as the family are covering all other costs themselves.

The family are in urgent need of donations to help them with their aid in funding Jimmy’s lifesaving transplant.

They are required to pay all of the medical costs within a month in order for Jim to receive his transplant.
