Claremorris Community Radio is in shock today with the news of the passing of Marty Flannery. Marty was a vital part of Claremorris Community Radio for a number of years. His dedication to the radio was full and committed. He supported every effort of the radio to engage with the community.

Marty had his own very successful and popular show, ‘Showbands Legends’. Without doubt his knowledge and appreciation for the golden age of Irish Showband music was unparalleled. Just last Thursday his show received a Community Radio Ireland achievement award at the annual Craol Féile for his creativity and effectiveness.

Marty will be sorely missed by all his many friends at Claremorris Community Radio and we offer our most sincere condolences to all his family.
