Sandra Donnellan interviews Claremorris native and the new Connaught Regional Fundraiser for the Cancer Fund for Children, Mary McHugh Murphy.

The Cancer Fund for Children was established in 1973 and the fund is responsible for the Daisy Lodge, which is a therapeutic centre for children affected by cancer and their families.

With the original site located in Co.Down, the Cancer Fund for Children is now looking to establish a new Daisy Lodge in Cong, Co.Mayo. It will be a brand new 16 bedroom facility set on 30 acres of land. It will also feature a dining area, a lounge area, a family centre, play areas and activity areas as well as beauty and therapy rooms. The Cancer Fund for Children is looking to secure €12.5 million for the new building through community and corporate fundraisers.
