Back in December, a teacher at Mount St Michael’s Secondary School in Claremorris showed a film to her TY students. It was a documentary about an orphanage in Tanzania, and the group were so moved by it that they decided to raise some funds.
With the help of their religion teacher Ms Brogan, the students decided to organise ‘A Day at the Oscars’, re-enacting some favourite movie scenes.
The results are hilarious and you can watch some of the performances on the Mount St Michael facebook page.
In this interview, two of students – Leah Staunton and Ciara Brennan – talk to Ms Brogan to find out more about the fundraiser and how it came about.
