John Fallon writes:

My message to men in the community is simple we came into this world with nothing and will leave with nothing and what happens in between will largely depend on ourselves.

We can stand up and make things happen and if for whatever reason anyone is feeling lost or alone or just simply want to get involved, to work within a group, to laugh, cry or talk and be part of a great bunch of guys.

If you are retired, unemployed or whatever then there is a place for you. Just call into us at the Men’s Shed where there are no strangers but just friends who haven’t met…

Claremorris Men’s Shed membership is largely made up of  the older generation  and while members are keen to be of assistance to community initiatives, unfortunately  on this occasion  during the lockdown, members were  having to cocoon.

The shed was mostly closed for the past few months ..however some of our members took some quiet time to upgrade the parks fairy houses, and over time completed the projects. Here they are seen refitting the fairy houses.Lots more new additions on the way so keep a look out.

The Irish Men’s Sheds Association provides support, information and resources to members sheds in Ireland, north and south of the border.

With the aim to make it as easy as possible for any like-minded group of men in Ireland to set up, run and maintain a men’s shed. To this end, they provide information, resources and support to their member sheds throughout Ireland; listening and responding to their members’ concerns is a cornerstone of their ethos.
