On Saturday June 3rd, Claremorris Community Radio will broadcast a new radio play, written and directed by local poet and playwright Pat Macken.
Settling for Swinford highlights the generational tension that existed in many Irish families during the 1960s. The play was recorded with an all-local cast in our studios in Claremorris.
Settling for Swinford will be broadcast, alongside a selection of Pat’s poetry, at 8pm on Saturday evening. It will also be repeated at 8pm on Monday night next, June 5th.
Acclaimed Claremorris poet Pat Macken visited our studios recently to record a selection of his work.
You can now listen to Pat reading his poems in a 1-hour special, which will be aired on Saturday next, October 29th, at 12 noon.
If you can’t get to the radio at that time, don’t worry, the programme will be repeated two days later, on Holiday Monday at 6pm.
