Facilitating Irish language content

failteThis Friday, December 13th, the station will be visited by Seána Nic Réamoinn, of Radio na Life and CRAOL.

The purpose of her visit will be to chat with and assist anyone who would like to produce a programme in the Irish language, include an Irish language feature in an existing show or even just sprinkle some Irish language phrases throughout their broadcasting.

Seána will be in the station from 11am until lunchtime on Friday.  All are welcome to come in and have a chat with her.

New show: Tobar an Dúchais

Irish-CultureA new show will debut today on CCR at 5pm, Tobar an Dúchais.

Its host, Seána Redmond, has a great love for the Irish culture and will celebrate this each week with Irish music, history, the arts and heritage. Seána aims to spread the love for her country with others and highlight just how great this little island of ours is.

In programme 1: On this weeks show, Seána and her guest Fearghal Breathnach will be discuss Theobald Wolfetone, the founding of the United Irishmen and the 1798 Rebellion in Wexford. Plenty of great Wexford Ballads of ’98 will be played! This week Seána visited the Píobairí Uilleann where she spoke to Gay McKeown about the organisation and he also played a lovely slow air on the pipes. The show will also feature an interview with Caoimhe Ní Ghormáin in the Old Library in Trinity College about the Book of Kells and the fantastic building they have there. Bainigí súp as!
